When visiting the Virgin Islands, be sure to visit the world famous Cruzan Rum Distillery, located right here on St Croix. Tours are operated daily, and reservations are not required. You will be shown the various stages of the fermentation and distillation processes used to create Cruzan Run. Watch as the rum is stored in Oak barrels and aged for many years. And finally, at the conclusion of the tour, guests are allowed to taste a variety of rum that Cruzan Rum creates.

On October 17, 2008, Hurricane Omar hit the island of St Croix. As it passed by, it turned into a Category 3 Hurricane, but not before doing millions of dollars worth of damage, mainly to many sailing vessels located in Christiansted, St Croix. After all was said and done, 40 boats were damaged. Many boats were slammed against the boardwalk that runs the entire length of the downtown area of Christiansted, which sustained extensive damage as well.
