Buck Island Reef

Explore the reef at Buck Island, only 1 1/2 miles off the coast of St Croix. Enjoy the unique and beautiful Elkhorn coral reefs that rise nearly to the waters surface from the seabed as much as 40 feet below. Snorkelers encounter colorful parrotfish, angelfish, as well as blue tangs. Take a half day and full day tours to Buck Island from St Croix for snorkeling and other activities.

Fort Frederik Museum

Fort Frederick is a landmark in the small town of Frederiksted St Croix. Built between 1752 and 1760, Fort Frederick stands on a site of an earlier fortification, Fort St James, built by the English during the 1640′s. Attacked and captured by the Spanish in 1650, it was later used by the French between 1650 and 1695. Fort Frederick lent a degree of support to the sugar industry on St Croix, which was to prove to be the island’s economic mainstay for over two hundred years.

Cruzan Rum Distillery

Salt River Ecosystem

The Salt River in St Croix, is home to a wide range of animal and plant life, all protected in a ecological preserve. in 1996 the National Park System created the Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve.
